summerwings asked: I'm really itching to start trying some soft sculpture animals for myself, and I definitely consider you to be a source of inspiration! I was wondering, whereabouts do you purchase your fabrics from? Could they be found at a local sewing shop? Thanks for any help! Have a lovely day!

They definitely could - the vast majority of my work is done with plain old calico that I dye with Dylon powder dyes. I also occasionally use felt that I buy either from my local shop or sometimes ebay if I want a particular shade. Good luck!

New deer friend!

arielsteiner asked: Hey, I've been following you for awhile, your work is lovely. <: I've recently been trying to teach myself how to make plush toys and was wondering how you sew yours.

I’ve got a bit of info on this in my FAQ (mostly making the pattern), if I’m honest it’s a case of a lot of trial and error. I’d also try to look at work you like and try to figure out how they did it, it’s a good way to get ideas and learn new techniques :)

kerriannhulme-inspiration asked: Hi Chloe! Your embroidery is so lovely. I was wondering what material you do your embroidery on? Everything I have tried has seemed really thin and ends up quite holey?

I use plain calico, it can sometimes become a bit overworked if I’m using actual embroidery thread and try to unpick it, but I use sewing thread most of the time with a small needle so it’s not a problem.

starttoday asked: Your work is wonderful! Love the direwolves especially and the stitched text. I have just moved to Oxford myself (well, Abingdon) and was wondering if you know of any creative kind of groups or anything that would be good to go to? I'd like to meet a few likeminded people :) Ps, my name is Chloe too! x

Thanks! I’ve lived here all of two weeks so far so I’m not overly familiar with the area. One place I do like is Darn it & Stitch, it’s a little haberdashery on Blue Boar Street (just off St Aldate’s by the town hall), the staff are really nice and they run workshops and a knitting club :)

I’ve also added commission spots for my little birds, here and here!

I’ve now listed a direwolf commission spot on my Etsy - click here! As of right now I’ve only made Ghost and Grey Wind, but I can make any of the others with a few adjustments, so just ask :)

starlingprince asked: I have to say, your direwolves are absolutely stunning! They look so intricately patterned, almost, so carefully designed and petite with all the patterning in the mane and tail and the slender legs, the delicate curve in the way they stand. They are such lovely stitched creatures and the photos of them are wonderful and just ahh so nice.

Daww thanks :)!
